So, who are they? Here's a fast look in the richest attorneys in the entire world, ranked from the lowest net value to the highest. Please note that the individuals on this list are practicing attorneys or judges. Alan Dershowitz: $25 million

After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1962, Alan Dershowitz went right to work. By 1964he was a member of the Harvard Law School school and in 1967, he had been made a complete professor. (He murdered in 2013.) While teaching classes, he was making a name for himself in the criminal law field. As a result of his standing as the "top lawyer of last resort," he's a bevy of high-profile customers, including Mike Tyson, Jim Baker, Leona Helmsley, O.J. Simpson, and Jeffrey Epstein. Robert Shapiro: $50 million

Presently a senior partner at Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, Howard, Avchen, and Shapiro, LLP, Robert Shapiro graduated from Loyola Law School in 1968 and started a career as a criminal attorney. After serving on O.J. Simpson's legal group (and representing several other celebrities), he chose to move into civil lawsuit. Besides his law career, he's written a children's publication and is a co-founder of LegalZoom and Shoedazzle.com.

Roy Black: $100 million

Yet another criminal and civil defense lawyer, Roy Black, a graduate from the University of Miami, is the senior associate at Black, Srebnick, Kornspan, & Stumpf. For more than 40 years, he has represented high profile customers, including William Kennedy Smith (acquitted on rape charges), Albertson's, Inc., and Helio Castroneves. Known by many in the industry for getting "the very best national standing in Florida," he also acts as a legal advisor on "The Now Show" and "Good Morning America" and instructs advanced criminal signs in the University of Miami.

Vernon E. Jordan Jr.: $12 million

Born in 1935, Jordan has enjoyed a long law career that began after his graduation from Howard University. (In addition, he holds over 70 honorary degrees from several colleges and universities.) He is now the senior council, focusing on general council, business, and global law, in Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer, and Feld LLP. His early career focused mostly on civil rights, while he later served as an adviser to President Clinton. The majority of his fortune was made by representing substantial businesses, such as Xerox and American Express, as well as spending time as Wall Street banker.

Thomas Mesereau: $25 million

Also a criminal defense lawyer (Are you noticing a trend?) , Thomas Mesereau graduated from Harvard University and The University of California's Hastings College of Law and has been appointed "Trial Lawyer of the Year for 2015" by the National Trial Lawyers. (He's won plenty of other awards such as "Criminal Defense Lawyer of the Year. ") He's known for carrying high stakes instances with impossible odds and receiving extraordinary results. He was Michael Jackson's lawyer when he was acquitted of 14 child molestation charges and has won an unprecedented three federal criminal jury trials in a row.
